We are looking for a family who would be interested in watching our two class pet rats, Jujubee and Jezebal, over the summer! If you or someone you know is interested, please let a teacher know or call us at 573-876-7294.
They are very sweet and are excited to visit your home this summer! Some families have asked the following questions, so I wanted to let you know what watching them entails. If you have further questions, please let us know.
1. Are Jujubee and Jezebel friendly?
Yes - they love to be held and played with. They have really fun personalities!
2. Aren't they dirty?
No - they are very clean and groom themselves regularly like cats do.
3. What if they get out?
They won't - their cage is very secure. They have never escaped this year!
4. What if we have cats?
No problem - just keep them in a separate room from the cats. Our student teacher, Ms. Flynn, often kept them in her dorm room with her cat and there was no problem.
5. What about food?
They are just fed a handful of pellets once a day - we will provide you with the food. Your child can have this for a summer responsibility!
6. What about cleaning their cage?
It is very easy. Just dump the bedding in the trash, rinse it out, and replace it with fresh bedding. This only need to be done weekly and your child can help with this too!
